"AT SEA" 2007

FEATURED WORK

Wilda's most recent body of work is comprised of abstract images developed through the interplay between fabric and light. Reactions to viewing selections of these photographs included:

"Wilda Gerideau-Squires offered stunning, unusual abstractions, mysterious in their creation. The romantically toned, rich-hued abstract forms are photographs of cloth. She has developed a unique art form through folding cloth provocatively, perhaps focusing so close that the image comes out blurry - and beautiful."

“Wilda’s photographic images isolate details of common forms and exalt them, allowing us to look deeper into them, extracting their nuances, folds, shadows and highlights, making them appear bigger than life.”

Wilda encourages viewers to allow their own "voice" to inform and inspire the viewing of her abstract photographs. This freedom given viewers to interpret her images provides a unique opportunity for dialogue between her and the viewer, resulting in a rarely-experienced "dance" of creative collaboration.
